Halo 5's three-week beta to show off endless sprinting, 'smart scope' for all weapons

The three-week beta for Halo 5: Guardians' multiplayer kicks off Dec. 29 and will feature three gameplay modes, seven maps and an array of new moves for the Spartans, according to the game's developers.

More importantly, the beta, which is accessible to those who purchased the Halo: Master Chief Collection, will give gamers their first chance to get their hands on some big changes coming to the franchise.

Halo 5: Guardians video leak shows sprinting, dev confirms details

What appears to be a Halo 5: Guardians multiplayer video hit the internet over the weekend, showing off sprinting in the game and kicking off some early discussion of the upcoming shooter by the studio head.

Josh Holmes, studio head for Halo 5, took to Twitter yesterday to address the leak, adding that the game will bring de-scoping back to the franchise. He also wrote that there will be no penalty for hip firing in Halo 5, no flinching, and no movement penalty when scoping or zooming.

More details will be revealed later tonight during HaloFest, including our own time with the game. For now take gander at the extremely fuzzy leaked video below and theorize away.
